I received a parking fine
First check which kind it is. A municipal street fine is paid first and contested with the police; a private car park fine is disputed in writing with the company.
Steps
Read the ticket
Felparkeringsavgift = street parking (municipality/police). Kontrollavgift = private car park (a company).
Street fine
Pay on time — even if you disagree — then contest it with the police within six months of paying.
Private fine
Write to the company as soon as possible with photos of the signs and your payment. Do not ignore it; if it goes to debt collection or Kronofogden, dispute it there too.
