Parking rules, signs and apps
Street parking is run by the municipality; car parks are usually private. The fine, who to contact and how to dispute it all depend on which one you parked on.

Reading parking signs

Parking apps
Common apps include EasyPark, Parkster and Mobill. Not every app works in every car park — the sign or machine lists which ones do. The operator named on the sign is the one to contact about payments, permits or fines.
Disputing a fine
Check which type it is
The ticket says whether it is a felparkeringsavgift or a kontrollavgift.
Street fine: pay, then contest
Pay on time, then contest it with the police (e-service or form) within six months of paying. If you are right, you get the money back.
Private fine: contest in writing
Write to the company named on the ticket as soon as possible, explain why it is wrong and attach photos. Do not ignore it — if it goes to debt collection or Kronofogden you must dispute it there too.
