My employer hasn’t paid me
Ask in writing, get your union involved, and if needed apply to Kronofogden for a payment order. If the employer goes bankrupt, the wage guarantee may pay.
Steps
Check your payslip and contract
Note exactly what is owed and for which dates.
Ask in writing
Email your employer with the amount and a date to pay by.
Contact your union
If you are a member, the union can claim the money for you. Not a member? You can still ask a union for advice about joining.
Apply for a payment order
Kronofogden can order the employer to pay. If the employer objects, the case goes to court.
Employer bankrupt?
The wage guarantee (lönegaranti) can pay wages earned in the months before and after the bankruptcy. The bankruptcy trustee decides; Skatteverket pays out for bankruptcies decided from February 2025.
