Moving-out inspection
The landlord inspects the flat when you leave. Know what you pay for, what is normal wear, and why you should not sign a protocol you disagree with.
Normal wear vs damage
| Normal wear — you do not pay | Damage — you may have to pay |
|---|---|
| Drill holes for pictures and shelves | Large holes, broken doors or cupboards |
| Small scratches in the floor | Deep gouges, burns, water damage you caused |
| Faded paint after years of living | Smoke damage, painted walls in unapproved colours |
| Ageing appliances | Broken appliances from misuse, scratched hob |
