Getting your deposit back
Your deposit should come back when you move out unless you damaged the flat. If it does not, ask in writing and get help.
Step by step
Leave the flat clean and undamaged
Follow the cleaning checklist and attend the inspection.
Give your bank details in writing
Ask when the deposit will be paid back.
If deductions are made, ask for the reasons in writing
Normal wear may not be deducted. Compare with your move-in photos and protocol.
Still no agreement?
Contact the Tenants’ Association, Hallå konsument for advice, or the Rent Tribunal. For excess second-hand rent, apply within three months of moving out.
