Healthcare
Healthcare before you have a personnummer
You always have the right to urgent care — but until you are registered you may be charged the full cost. Plan for it.
What applies
- Urgent care: you always have the right to it.
- Cost: 1177 says people with a residence permit who need care before they are registered pay the full cost themselves. Most people from outside the EU/EEA who are not registered do too.
- Records: the clinic gives you a temporary number (reservnummer) instead of a personnummer.
