Booking a doctor's appointment
In Sweden you rarely walk in to see a doctor. You call, use 1177 or the clinic’s app, and a nurse decides what kind of appointment you need.
How booking works
Contact your vårdcentral
By phone (you often choose a call-back time), through 1177.se when logged in, or the clinic’s app.
Talk to a nurse first
The nurse asks about your symptoms and decides: advice, a nurse visit, a doctor visit, or a video call.
Ask for an interpreter if needed
Say so when booking, so it is arranged in time.
Cancel if you cannot come
Missed appointments are charged even if you have a free card, and the fee is often higher than a normal visit.
