The same motorcycle is used for the whole test, which can take most of the day:
- Safety check: lights, brakes, tyres, chain or belt, suspension, oil.
- Manoeuvring test on a track: a low-speed section (slalom and turns), a high-speed section of at least 50 km/h with an evasive manoeuvre, and braking from 70 and 90 km/h.
- Riding in traffic: at least 25 minutes in and outside town; the examiner talks to you by radio.
Wear full protective gear: helmet, gloves, boots, goggles, back protector and strong clothing. Tests run roughly late April to late October.

Book and pay in Trafikverket’s booking service. Your photo is taken at the test centre before your first test — arrive 30 minutes early. Theory questions can be read aloud only in Swedish; extra time, oral tests or an interpreter can be applied for (support). Driving tests are held in Swedish.

Validity, failing and retakes
A passed theory test is valid one year. You can take only one test per day for the same category. New licence holders have a two-year probation; if the licence is revoked you need a new test and a new risk course. Upgrading from A2 needs a valid learner’s permit and a new photo before the driving test.
