Banking & BankID
Avoiding banking and BankID scams
Fraudsters target newcomers by phone, text and social media. These rules protect your account.
Common scams
| Scam | What happens |
|---|---|
| Fake bank or police call | Someone says your account is at risk and asks you to log in with BankID “to stop it”. You are actually approving their access. |
| Fake delivery or authority text | A link to “pay a fee” leads to a page that steals your card or BankID. |
| Marketplace “buyer” | A buyer asks you to open BankID or Swish to “receive” payment. Receiving money never needs BankID. |
| Rental scam | A cheap flat, the “landlord” is abroad, you pay a deposit before seeing it. See housing scams. |
| Job offer with a fee | You pay for a contract, work permit or training that never comes. |
