Step by step

1. 1

   Check your permit allows self-employment

   A work permit as an employee does not automatically allow running a business. Check with Migrationsverket first.

2. 2

   Check the business qualifies

   For F-tax the business must be independent, ongoing and run for profit.

3. 3

   Apply for F-tax or FA-tax on verksamt.se

   FA-tax if you also have a job. Register for VAT (moms) at the same time if your activity is VAT-liable. Registering is free.

4. 4

   Keep accounts

   Record every income and expense and keep receipts. You declare the business in your yearly tax return.

5. 5

   Get found

   List your business in the Pak Bridge business directory so people in the community can find you.
