The stages of an unpaid bill
| Stage | What it is | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Faktura | The invoice | Pay by the due date |
| Påminnelse | A reminder, often with a fee | Pay or object immediately |
| Inkassokrav | A debt collection demand | Pay, or object in writing if it is wrong |
| Betalningsföreläggande | A payment order from Kronofogden | Object within the deadline (usually ten days) if you disagree |
| Betalningsanmärkning | A payment remark on your credit record | Makes renting and contracts hard for years |
