How it works

Landlords, phone companies and banks run credit checks on you. A payment remark (betalningsanmärkning) makes it hard to rent a flat or sign contracts.
Kronofogden (the Swedish Enforcement Authority) handles payment orders and collects debts that have been decided.
If you get a claim from Kronofogden and think it is wrong, object in writing in time — usually within ten days.
