Drinking tap water
Cold tap water in Sweden is safe to drink straight from the tap — no need to buy bottled water.
Good to know
- Drinking water from the public network is controlled and should be drinkable straight from the tap.
- Drink and cook with cold water — only cold tap water is checked as drinking water.
- Let the tap run until the water is cold if it has been standing.
- If you live in a house with its own well, you are responsible for testing the water.
