Student cards, unions and nations
Your student ID gives transport and shop discounts. Student unions and, in Uppsala and Lund, nations are the centre of student social life — membership is voluntary.
Student ID
Transport operators accept student IDs from apps such as Mecenat and STUK — check which one your region requires in student discounts. Many shops, cinemas and software companies give student discounts too.
Unions and nations
- Student unions (kårer) represent students and run events. Membership is voluntary.
- Nations in Uppsala and Lund are student associations with pubs, housing, scholarships and clubs. Joining is a great way to meet people — and many hold alcohol-free events too.
