Before you travel · Task 1 of 6
Confirm your decision and permit card
Follow the official embassy instructions for passport checks, biometrics and card collection.
What to do
Pakistani citizens need the residence permit card before travelling to Sweden. Follow only instructions from Migrationsverket and the Embassy of Sweden in Islamabad.
- Book an embassy appointment only when instructed. Passport check, interview and biometrics are different steps; your case may require one or more of them.
- Embassy appointments, passport checks and biometric enrolment are free. Nobody can sell an earlier appointment or influence the decision. The embassy does not handle residence-permit cases through WhatsApp.
- Ask where your permit card will be delivered and how you will be told it is ready. Keep the decision and case number.
- Check every name, date and permit-validity date before you book your flight.
Steps
- Follow the official instruction for any passport check, interview or biometrics
- Confirm where and how the residence permit card will be collected
- Do not pay an agent for an appointment or promised faster decision
