Plan your move in the right order

Finding a home is often the hardest part of moving to Sweden, so start early.

• Students: use your university's student housing queue and its housing office.
• Workers: ask your employer — many help with the first weeks.
• Renting from someone else (andrahand): always get a written contract, check who owns the home and never pay a deposit before you have seen the contract. Rental scams are common.
• When you register with Skatteverket after you arrive, you give the address where you live.
