Gather your documents
Marriage certificate, passports and proof of living together if sambo.
What to do
- Documents must be in Swedish or English. Translations must be certified, and you include a copy of the original.
- Married couples: your marriage certificate (for Pakistan, the Nikah nama and NADRA Marriage Registration Certificate).
- Cohabiting partners: proof you have lived together, such as a joint rental contract or registration certificates.
Steps
- Have documents translated into English or Swedish by a certified translator
- If you live together without marriage, collect proof such as a joint rental contract

- Passport copies for everyone applying
- Nikah nama and NADRA Marriage Registration Certificate (certified English translation)
- Children's birth certificates (NADRA CRC), if they are applying
- Partner's rental or ownership contract
- Partner's employment certificate or recent payslips
