Bank account and BankID

Banks normally require a personnummer and Swedish ID. The Skatteverket ID card costs SEK 400, paid before your appointment.

Once your account is open, your bank issues BankID in its app. You will use it for Swish, 1177, Skatteverket and signing contracts. Never log in with BankID because someone phoned or messaged you — that is the most common scam in Sweden.
